A Precious Gift from the Heart to Haiti from Young Ladies at Catholic Church of St. Monica
Written by Olivia Boyd.
"This last Summer a group of girls, my sister Annabell, her friends Olivia, Kate, and Valarie, and myself, all decided that we wanted to both create and sell items together but also benefit Haiti. We had been hearing a lot about Sacre Cour and the Clinic and felt that the people there could use prayers and support. During this previous Saint Monica's Arts and Crafts Show we all participated at a table. We mustered together a table full of bracelets, knit hats, earrings, cookies, and lemonade. We made a blanket to send to Haiti with any donations for the Haiti Twinning Mission it could inspire.
Through this experience we learned a little bit about marketing and a lot about time management. In the end we collected money from sales and donations to be used by the Haiti Twinning Ministry. We also are going to be sending one blanket, prayers and lots of love to the parish of Sacre Coeur. Please pray for them as you think about all the comforts, we have the blessing to be wrapped in and ask The Lord and Our Lady to bring the blanket safely there."
The Haiti Twinning Mission wants to thank these young ladies for their gift of time, a beautiful blanket and money raised for our mission. The blanket will be mailed along with the messages.
Pray that the beautiful handmade gift gets to Sacre Coeur safely. May our Blessed Mother's Immaculate Heart protect the package.
