What's New?

- Port-au-Prince, Haiti
and surrounding area was struck by a major earthquake on January 12. St. Monica's had a team on the ground within 5 days providing medical care at a makeshift field hospital and making safe water available to hard-hit communities around Port-au-Prince. Please visit our Earthquake Response Page where you can learn more and also watch a new video about the mission.

- The Hope for Haiti Gala was held on September 26, 2009 and was a great success, raising approximately $85,000 which will help fund our clinic, soup kitchen and numerous other programs in the coming months. Next year's gala has been set for October 22. Please mark your calendars!

- Our October Mission to Hinche was in two parts - Jim Toth and Barb Burke held many meetings with officials in Port au Prince to pave the way for future shipments of medicines into Haiti and later traveled to Hinche to meet with our clinic staff. Meanwhile, the Coughlin brothers - Michael, David and Mark held an eyeglass clinic at Sacre Coeur, fitting hundreds of people, including many school children, with corrective eyewear.

- Click here to see our new Safe Water Video!  The Safe Water Project has been ramping up for several months now, and we are already seeing health benefits in the approximately 3,000 participating families.  People are reporting a reduction in potentially deadly diarrhea and other ailments since they began using our "Klorfasil" system.  Click here to learn more.
